Wealth Game

25 comments:

  1. Effort, is the most important thing to aim for when trying to be successful in life. Don't get me wrong the other three are important as well but it doesn't matter what type of skills you have or the motivation you are getting unless you actually try your hardest. That's where effort comes into play, you gotta push you're to be the greatest you can be.

    1. I completely agree with you on this, I also think that it doesn't matter what type of skills you have unless you put in effort.

    2. True. You can even be successful in things you don't have any skills in if you work hard enough, although you'll be most successful putting effort into activities you're good at.

    3. I agree you have to put effort in everything you do in order to succeed.

  2. I feel that effort is the most important determinant of wealth. I feel this way for many reason one of the main ones being that without effort you can’t and won’t go anywhere. It doesn’t matter how much skill you have or how much money you begin with because in the end without putting in some form of effort you’re not going to improve. This also means that motivation plays a huge role but I feel that not always do you need motivation to put in effort.

    1. I agree with what you mean about not needing motivation to put in effort. At first i thought the tow were basically the same, ya know, but if you really think about it you can do something even if you don't care.

    2. I agree. Someone could be very lucky and have a lot of natural abilities but if they don't make an effort to use them then they won't get anywhere

    3. I agree with what you said. Effort is probably the most important thing outta the four. Without it you can't and won't get anywhere.

    4. I completely agree with you. Because you can't depend on anyone else but yourself to put forth in effort for your own success. And like you said, without effort you can't and won't go anywhere.

  3. I think luck, skill and effort were the most important factors of wealth. If you were placed in the wealthy group from the start, you already one basically. Another really important part to determining wealth was the skill, because if you sucked at math like me, you didn't really figure out the game and just got screwed over by your trades. But i think the most important determinants of wealth is effort because if you didn't try at all you didn't gain any wealth. I just sat there and i did poorly because i didn't even try.

    2. Nice I kind of said they were all important, too, but I'm curious why you didn't think motivation was as important. Also, won* in your second sentence.

  4. I think all of them can be equally important, but for someone like me, who was lucky enough to be born in the US and have the opportunity to become educated, but not lucky enough to be born into a rich family, effort is most important. However I think the others have their times as well. For example, a poor guy who is too dumb to acquire any real skills, but is the hardest working guy there is and has motivation, luck and skills are most important. If he can't improve his skills, then it'll take a lot of luck, but if he can, his effort will pay off, but only because of his new skills. Another example where things could be different is a person born into a very wealthy family. If they have been pampered with everything they want all their life, motivation might be hard to find. Or, they might not give effort on account of never having to. Or, might not have any skills because they've had everything done for them. Like I said' I think they all have their time, but across the board effort is usually the most crucial.

    1. I agree with this a lot. Because effort is what a person can put forth the most of all.

  5. I think a combination of effort and motivation are necessary for my success in the future. After college, I plan to go to medical school and eventually become a surgeon so I will be in school for a long time in a highly competitive field. In order to compete with others, I will need to devote my time and energy toward studying and volunteering as a certified nursing assistant which means I will have to put a lot of extra effort into my career. Since it is hard to constantly give my best effort for the approximately fourteen years it will take to become a surgeon, I will need to keep in mind my motivation for accomplishing this goal to keep myself on track.

    1. I agree completely with this, I am going to college this August to major in Pre-med, in hopes of becoming a surgeon. I am fully aware of how much it takes to succeed in the field of medicine. As long as you know that you possess the motivation and interest to excel, then you easily will.

  6. The game of wealth is very much based upon luck just like in the real world. We are born into families randomly and their wealth becomes ours. If we are born into the middle or low class it is out of our control, it is completely based upon luck. Strategy and motivation are also factors in the game of wealth. It is in our human nature to compete with others, to better ourselves. We come up with ways to be a better competitor by developing strategies.

    1. At first I didn't agree with you but now I see where your coming from. I agree with you, we have know idea how our families will be like when we come into this world. Yes, it is in our human nature to better ourselves & to want to be happy with the success we've done.

  7. I think the most important determinant of wealth to be successful is your effort. Because for YOU to be successful you have to do it yourself, you can’t depend on others. You have to be devoted and focused and put forth an effort to get somewhere. Just sitting around hoping luck will be on your side and success will just come to you is unrealistic. Skills can come to you over time if you work at it, but again you have to put forth an effort to better yourself and your skills. Being driven by the desire to win or improve can really motivate you but once again, your effort at working hard is what is going to get you there.

  9. I think the wealth game is based on effort. The more work and time you put into it the more you will get out of it. Even being born into a poor family of poverty, if you are determine and put forth the effort and time to break your poverty you will succeed. I believe that with determination one can do the impossible.

  10. I believe that effort and motivation are the most important determinant of wealth, you need to put in the effort to get anything done and if you’ve got motivation it makes you strive to reach your goals. Although the other determinants are important, its the effort that counts. If you give whatever you’re doing enough effort you can achieve your goals, plus with the motivation of your goals in sight, it makes you work your hardest to reach your potential.

  12. I believe motivation is necessary for being successful. You have to have the motivation to improve your wealth, you use it to help achieve your goals/ dreams in life. And you have that desire to be wealthy and won’t stop until you get what you want.

  13. I would say it takes effort & motivation for success. You have to put in the time & thought to sit down & think about what your strengths are. Then you put in the effort to strive for your goals. Not everything is going to be handed to you, so you have to work for your future & not give up on yourself. Staying motivated isn't easy but that's the challenge. Success takes time, you need to be patient with yourself & keep a positive mind to push yourself to do things that can be difficult. In the end the hard work will pay off.
